What's new to the Audi Q5

As it stands, the latest model year of the Audi Q5 gets quite a few updates. To start, the new Audi Q5 Sport S line exterior design now comes standard across the full trim lineup. If you're thinking of getting the Audi Q5 plug-in hybrid version, then drivers can enjoy a larger 17.9-kWh battery along with new standard sport seats. The Black Optic package is a new appearance package option (exterior). The Audi Q5 also adds a new expanded infotainment system which features a 10.1-inch infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, and Connected services with emergency calling.

Performance and Fuel economy

The 2022 Audi Q5 is available with three powertrains. The base is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that aided by a mild 14-volt hybrid system to deliver 262 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. This powertrain is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The 2022 Q5 with this powertrain offers an acceleration time of 6 seconds from 0 to 60 mph. Fuel economy is rated at 22/28 mpg city/highway.

The Plug-in hybrid powertrain pairs the 2.0-liter turbo-four engine and the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with an electric motor increasing total power output to 362 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. This Plug-in hybrid Q5 covers 0-60 mph in only 5 seconds. The rated fuel economy is at 27 mpg when using gas only and 65 mpg-e when using gas and electricity.  This powertrain also features 20 miles of all-electric range.

Audi offers a turbocharged V-6 that delivers 349 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque for those interested in performance and speed. Paired with this engine is an eight-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain achieves an acceleration time of 4.7 seconds from 0-60 mph. Fuel economy is rated at 18/24 mpg.

Safety

The 2022 Audi Q5 gains standard safety and driver-assistance features. These include rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, rear collision warning with automatic emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors. The Prestige and Premium Plus models gain standard adaptive cruise control.

Technology

The 2022 Audi Q5 features a standard 10.1-inch infotainment system. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth streaming, and dual front-row USB ports are standard. A 7.0-inch digital gauge cluster display is standard on the Premium model, while the Premium Plus and the Prestige gains 12.3-inch digital display. All models get a standard 10-speaker stereo system, while 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen is available.

Interior and Exterior

The 2022 Q5 interior is spacious and comfortable with leather-trimmed seats, available heated steering, heated and ventilated front seats, power-adjustable driver's seat with memory settings, auto-dimming rear-view mirror. The steering is well-positioned with available paddle shifters.

Exterior features include newly designed wheels with sizes 18-inches, 19-inches, and 20-inches depending on the trim. Other features include power-operated heated side-mirrors and dual-exhaust outlets.
