The Hidden Tech in Your Audi That Most Drivers Don’t Use (But Should)

The 2025 Audi lineup is filled with advanced technology designed to make driving safer, more comfortable, and more fun. Yet, many drivers barely scratch the surface of what their car can do. If you own a 2025 Audi Q5, A4, e-tron GT, or another current model, there are features you may not even realize you have! Here are seven of the most underused Audi technologies, how they work, and why you should try them today.

Traffic Sign Recognition

Audi’s Traffic Sign Recognition uses a forward-facing camera to detect speed limits and other road signs, displaying them in your Audi Virtual Cockpit or head-up display. If you miss a sign while driving, the system ensures you always know the current limit. It can also provide warnings if you exceed posted speeds.

Try it: Check your MMI settings under Driver Assistance to make sure Traffic Sign Recognition is enabled. On your next drive, watch your display after passing a speed limit sign. The correct limit should appear almost instantly.

Natural Voice Commands

With the 2025 Audi voice control system, you can speak naturally instead of memorizing specific phrases. Just say “Hey Audi” to change the temperature, get directions, call a contact, or play music. This keeps your hands on the steering wheel and your focus on the road.

Try it: While parked, activate voice control and say something conversational like, “I need a coffee” or “Navigate to Thomaston park.” Your Audi will understand and take action without you having to scroll through menus.

In-Car Wi-Fi Hotspot

With an Audi connect® PLUS subscription, your car becomes a high-speed Wi-Fi hotspot for multiple devices. Passengers can stream, work, or game on the go without relying on their phone’s data plan.

Try it: Go to Settings > Connectivity > Wi-Fi in your MMI menu to turn on the hotspot. Use the displayed network name and password to connect a device and test the connection.

Audi Digital Key

Available on many 2025 models, the Audi Digital Key lets you lock, unlock, and start your vehicle with your smartphone. No key fob required. You can also share access with family members who have compatible devices.

Try it: In the myAudi app, navigate to the Digital Key setup and follow the pairing instructions. Once complete, you can unlock the car with your phone and start the engine by placing it on the wireless charging pad.

Parking Assist Plus

Parking in tight spots is easier with Parking Assist Plus. Using sensors and cameras, the system steers your Audi into parallel or perpendicular spaces while you operate the brakes and gears.

Try it: Press the Park Assist button as you slowly drive past potential spaces. When the system detects one that fits, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the park.

Adaptive Cruise Assist with Lane Centering

Audi’s Adaptive Cruise Assist goes beyond basic cruise control by maintaining a safe following distance and keeping your vehicle centered in its lane. It is ideal for long drives or heavy traffic.

Try it: Activate cruise control, then enable lane centering. Adjust your following distance and let the system assist with speed and steering while you remain in control.

Remote Engine Start via myAudi App

For cold mornings or hot afternoons, the myAudi app allows you to start your vehicle remotely so the cabin is comfortable when you get in. Your Audi must be locked, in Park, and in an open, safe location.

Try it: In the myAudi app, select Remote Start and wait a few minutes before heading to your vehicle. The climate control system will already be at work.
